Cider Mill

The Fam went to the cider mill yesterday so Sepporah could pick some apples. I can only go to the cider mill when it starts to get cold, cause for some reason going in short sleeves just bothers me. I love the fall/winter months. Here are some pics of our day.

I love this time of year!

Check me out....stealing an apple.

Sepporah couldn't wait to pick apples. She dumped her bag out once so she could pick some more. So I made her eat all the apples she dumped out. Just kidding mom.

I have to photoshop a tooth in, but for now her hillbilly roots are starting to show.

Climb monkey!!! CLIMB!!

We had a lot of fun. And I am not holding Jessicas arm to make her stay...she was very cold.

Take Me To Your Leader

Space Alien Charlie. Kristen's little one. He's so ugly he's cute. A real character. Always on the go. So this pic shows how he is--one eye on you and the other on the next bit of trouble he can get into. Smart little bugger...

Oops!

Wow, am I in a time warp? My watch said today is the 7th. I've been telling everyone today is Mom's b-day. I feel a tad stupid. But anyway--still love you Mom--and you've always been very forgiving. : )

Happy Birthday Mom!

Being on the road, I didn't have access to more recent pictures. Plus these seemed funnier. Love the hair!

Mom...you've always been there. What else can I say? That's special in itself.

We love you--Stephen, Karen, Kristen, Nathan, Lola, Otis, Elmo, Lily, Skyler, Hannah, and BoJangles.

Have a wonderful birthday!!

Happy Birthday Grandma Thompson!

Today is a special day for a very special lady. Grandma and Grandpa Thompson are the heart and soul of our wonderful family. We all know how great it is to be on the receiving end of Grandma's love and care. Such an amazing woman. Happy Birthday Grandma!!!

Lincoln Smiling

One Special Moment

I didn't even notice this was happening until after the fact, but at one point during Sarah's wedding we had three dads dancing with their daughters. Beautiful, right?

More pictures.

LAST ONE TO SPRINGFIELD'S A ROTTEN EGG!

Cole Hate Ronald McDonald

Cole and Titus were playing in the play area of a McDonalds in between
St. Louis and Springfield. At the end of the play time, Cole ask to
go over to Ronald. Titus followed and when they got there, they both
began pounding on him. This picture shows the action. Still not sure
what Ronald ever did but it might be that Mary went to Mcd for
breakfast and didn't get them anything and they blamed him.

Happy Birthday Jessica!

Happy Birthday to my other favorite sister-in-law, Jessica, who turns 36 today!

Baby kittens--even though kittens are babies

Karen and her sister Cheryl are bottle feeding these. Their mother rejected them. Up for adoption if/when they survive. Karen did her turn last night--feeding every four hours. They look like they will be "Morris the Cat" color/style. Contact me if interested in giving these a great home!

My Contribution

My apologies for not contributing any new content to the blog recently. I've been spending a ton of hours at the studio where I work now making music for commercials and other things. Because it's still new to me, it takes me longer than it takes the other composers to whip these pieces out. There's a learning curve I guess.

Anyway, here's video of me reading Thompson Madness in bed after a long day at the office.

New Game

Since I've pretty much carried the blog for the last month (with a little bit of random help from Uncle Scott), I've decided it's time for a new game to be completed by Thanksgiving. It will be a twist on the two truths and a lie game.

I want you each to send me three things that you've done that broke rules. This could include things as a kid or adult. It will be funny to here about our "bad past."

I will post the three things without telling who it is and we will try and guess who it is.

Please send them to me ASAP.

Great Aunt Ella

This is Great Aunt Ella, Grandpa Thompson's sister. I remember this day well. Despite my appearance, I was thrilled to be in her company. She was a kind person.

Scans and stuff...an update

I had my 3 month invasion yesterday. After drinking 2 bottles of barium, having a nurse bleed me like a stuck pig (seriously--lost an ounce trying to get an IV in me) then waiting on pins and needles for 2 hours, Karen and I got word that the scans showed the ablation killed the liver tumor AND that no new tumors have shown up. WHEW! I have another 3 month stay...

Only bad news is my half a pancreas has decided to skimp on the insulin supply so I am going in tomorrow to learn how to shoot up. I will have to take insulin on an as need basis--spot treatment. My sugars have been hitting the upper 200's lately and anything above 275 makes me feel like I'd rather be eating mom's mystery dish than... Ugh. I dread the thought of being diabetic but I suppose it's a small price to pay to continue walking upright.

Karen and I go in tomorrow morning for insulin education. Nice way of saying "how to stick yourself with a needle."

So, next scan is in December--another octreotide full body deal over 2 days. I am hoping my Christmas present this year will be another 3 month reprieve.

BTW--the nurse admitting me said I looked like Brad Pitt. : )

Since no one else is posting...

Fun with the laptop camera

I'm a little mad. As in crazy. In a good way. I have clearly been influenced by the theatrics of late-night televangelists. I like how they over-accentuate every facial movement. This video is proof of my madness. P.S. Turn up the volume as high as possible.
