Claire does some modeling for her dad

I had a concept in my head that I wanted to shoot for possible album artwork. I borrowed a friend's vintage motorcycle helmet and asked Claire if she'd model for me. It came out exactly like I pictured and Claire was really into it.

Because Steve (yes Steve) Said So

These pictures were taken with my phone so they might not be the best, but they show the people I love in the way that I love seeing them.

I love this time right before Mary lays him down for the night (or for an hour before he wakes up again).

I got the boys (including Lincoln though not pictured) a Mexico soccer outfit last week when I was in Mexico. They couldn't wait to put them on.

Lincoln

Titus in the morning watching his one show. Mary is all about routine and schedule.

The brothers.

All my boys did this when they were this age. They would just stair up at whomever was holding them. I love it.

Titus swinging.

Cole

Cole and his fake smile.

Lincoln's expression kills me.

Titus' first time on his new bed that Grandma Phyllis bought him.

You can't teach this kind of coolness.

Our boys sleep hard and get hot doing it.

Fake smile again.

Every morning this is my favorite thing when they all get in bed with us.

Cole, "Put down the candy and nobody gets hurt."

You can take the kid out of the ghetto but you can't take the ghetto out of the kid.

The boys love each other.

Listen to Titus. The music wasn't loud enough.

Watch for Lincoln to look at Mary. I love it.

Field Trip!

I had a lifetime first today, as a chaperone for Claire's first-grade class. The trip was to the Troy Nature Conservatory where they went to learn about how sap is drawn from trees and refined into syrup. This was easily one of the most boring things I've ever attended. And yet Claire was thrilled beyond belief to have me there and that made it fun. There was even a random puker, who just spontaneously let loose during the mind-numbing 20 minute video presentation that began the event. Classic grade school: we've got a puker people!

Claire's bff, Kateri.

Hey, what's wrong with this blog?

First, did Matt and brood move off the planet? I haven't seen overly cute images of his boys for a while. And Phyllis, you can't post? Trish--there? Trish...

It's getting slightly boring.

And Mom, you gotta comment more than, "That's a nice picture" on every entry.

Trish...

And Scott. Are you so busy that you can't gush over your kids or your new job or girlfriend or anything?

Come on family. Wake up and write up.

I snapped this picture of Jessica after we went out to lunch Monday (sorry -- it's from my cell!). Just thought I would share.

Now where's Sarah's????

We're Back!

There's not enough time to write all we did, or explain how much fun we had. Suffice it to say it was the dream trip of a lifetime--shared. Karen and I had THE most perfect time of our lives. Even when it rained we loved it. Here are just a few pics. Karen is working on a DVD and an album--so next time we see you we'll force you to sit through it. : ) For now, a taste:

BTW--to explain the chickens--they're everywhere on Kauai. And we also saw a wild boar, a shark (yes...a 4 footer near shore), dolphins, humpback whales, sea turtles galore (our cottage was on Turtle Cove), and an endangered monk seal. And as mentioned, LOT's and lot's of chickens. We heard them nonstop too.
