Here's what you do: Take a garden hoe, tape a mop handle to it, then get another mop handle or slim board and tape it on. You can reach way up in the tree where the good pears are, hook the hoe around a pear and pull. Works good!
Kirsten, one has to really watch or it could be dangerous. I learned the hard way. I have a big bruise on my arm where one hit me. And, Daniel my invention would work for picking apples.
