Happy 80th birthday to Dad/Grandpa/Papa

A few days in the life of Samuel Leroy Thompson.

His favorite position when reading. The army days.

Young and handsome.

School days--about 7 or 8 years old.

Picture taken in 1937.

Happy Birthday Grandpa!

I had no idea you were so old. Or that you were the one responsible for the Thompson head size (the pictures are clear proof).

You're still handsome as ever.

Happy birthday dad! Do you feel any more like you do now than you did a little while ago? Do you want me to send Big Bertha over for a bday smooch? Want me to draw fly's for your card? Are the indian's still coming? All things to pnder now that you've finally reach adulthood at 80. Happy birthday. Love you.

Happy birthday Grandpa! I wish I could be there to share a cake just like in the good old days. Have a great day and do some thumb-twiddling for me

Happy birthday dad! So many things come out of my mouth with my grandchildren that sound just like you. Some of the things I tease them about are so goofy and I realize my sense of humor came from you.

You have lived a life of honor and faithfulness to God.
Beautiful!
I was struck by how handsome you still are when I saw Kristen's wedding pictures.
I love you.

Happy Birthday Grandpa T. As in the famous quote you always remind me of... Your more handsome than I remembered. :) You have been a great father and grandfather and inspiration to others. We all love you for it.

Grandpa,

Though it has often been said as a joke, I really do wish I will be like you when I grow up. You have lived a life of integrity, service and love for God. I hope that when I am 80, people will be able to respect my life the way they do yours.

Thanks for all that you've blessed our family with like character, corny humor, confusing questions, funny sayings, weird objects of entertainment (weasel), and so much more.

I love you.

Matt
