I believe the shadow was behind my hair, making it look really high. If not, that took some teasing to get it up like that. We thought we were in style.

How come Trish wouldn't join the party?

Trish was always about the natural look. I was more about the Dolly Parton look...Trish was quiet and serene. Now she wears more jewelry
than me, has her hair four colors at a time, and (hold your heart mom)...she wears shorts.

funny how most of the 60's stuff is back in except the hair and big glasses.

Is this pre-Scott? And does Emily resemble Trish! Wow. She has her disposition as well. Genetics are amazing.

No Scott, this was not pre-Scott. We were ready to go to a banquet of some kind and you were too young to go.

Steve looks like Makuley Culkin.

Oh, big glasses are back to, in some circles. This is a great photo. We have a stack of old pics and a scanner now, so we're going to have to get crackin'

Matthew asked me why I was the only one smiling in the picture.

It was because I had a hot date waiting. You don't get a "carnation corsage" that big from your mom....

Just one of the many "carnation corsages" of my life....

When I turned 16, it took me one year to date every boy in our youth group, but I never kissed any of them. One time mom found a letter from Bobby Ray complaining about the fact I wouldn't kiss him...ha! I would go on my first date with each one of them, come home and tell mom why I loved them, and then I would go on a second date and decide "not so great after all" and would drop them.

Two things mom had me convinced of:

1. If I kissed a boy my reputation would be ruined because boys talk in the locker room.

2. If I ever smoked pot I would be an addict after the first puff.
(all those Teen Challenge movies we watched at church)
Crazy thing though... I was engaged by 17. Yes...ring and all. I actually bought a dress. Wow....

That now sounds as crazy as having a monkey for a pet.
