That is just how he stares at me when I sing books to him. It is so hard to not crack up. He stares straight at your face like you are the strangest thing he has ever known...and then in that dry tone says, "Do it again." He never laughs...just stares at me.
The other side of that focus...if he thinks you are sad or are in danger he is very tuned in and caring. I can't tell you how many times when I am out with him, he warns me to watch where I step or to be careful or all types of other advice. We'll be driving along and he will tell me the color of the light coming up, or remind me when we were last at a building we drive by...such funny stuff. He just REALLY absorbs life. Sometimes when I am reading to him, he will just put his arm around me and out of the blue say,"Grandma, I love you." All with direct eye contact. He has also told me on more than one occasion that I am the crazy grandma. Wonder where he hears that?
