Guess Who?

We have another challenge. By the way, Grandma would like to point out that nobody guessed on the last round. And I would like to point out that this is probably because it was OBVIOUSLY EMILY. Having said that, the next one is a bit more of a challenge, and it also happens to feature my great grandfather Thompson, which always brings good memories.

So, guess who:

It is a beautiful picture of Kristen.

It is also a beautiful picture of a beautiful soul...Grandpa Thompson.

I loved him so much. I still tear up thinking about his kindness and character. One of my most treasured childhood memories is being there for a visit in the summer and sleeping upstairs in the feather beds with the windows wide open.

Grandpa would walk with his dog Happy, through the cotton fields, early in the morning. I could hear him singing "How Great Thou Art". As a child I silently listened as his soul sang.

I can still smell their house (black flag), taste the water (well), taste the food (biscuits, ham, beans and red onions), remember the fun (hearing the blood dripping from the ghost of the man hung in the front closet...verified by my cousin Angela), remember the awe of seeing someone up close smoking (Uncle Ray), visualize the aluminum Christmas tree with the color wheel, hear Grandma say, "Jimmy, give them (us kids) some money" and feel the love.

wow...been a while since that was taken. he was a super special man and I am so glad Kristen got to be held by him. she doesn't remember him but she knows a lot about him. Grandpa always took time for any kid--none were ever sent away. love 'em both.
