Happy Birthday to Mary

It's hard to believe, but baby face here is thirty years old today. Mary's going to be one of those Dick Clark types who never seems to age. We're all going to be freaked out when she's in her 50s and looking like she just got out of college. Happy Birthday Mary!

Happy Birthday Mary. Make Matthew watch the kids and cook dinner while you ride the motorcycle and smoke a cigar.

Mary could ride a motorcycle, smoke a cigar AND watch the kids and cook dinner! You have never seen a better multi-tasker than Mary...and she does it with such calm and sweetness.

Last night I went out with Matthew and the boys to shop for Mary. At one point, Matthew needed to run into a store quickly and I stayed in the car with the boys. Cole likes to discuss, so he wanted to know what his daddy was doing. I explained it was for mommy's birthday. Cole and I play this "listing stuff" game (lists like "what things come out at night")

So I said, "What things are mommy?"
He smiled and said, "You tell." (which is his phrase for you start)

I said, "Mommy is pretty."

Cole said, "Yes mommy is pretty."

Mommy is funny.

Yes, mommy is funny.

Mommy is smart.

Yes mommy is smart.

Mommy is nice.

Yes, mommy is REALLY nice.

I totally concur!!!

I will continue the conversation:.....

Mommy is stronger than Daddy.

Yes, mommy is much stronger than Daddy.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MARY!!! WELCOME TO OLD AGE :)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MARY!!!!

I am sorry I didn't get a card to you. I had your name on my birthday calendar but in all the appointments to the dentist, and to the doctor to get my eye done, I wrote so much stuff on the calendar that it obstructed your name some.

We all know that our family got blessed the day you and Matthew were married. You are a wonderful granddaughter-in-law and we love you very much.

Mary really is a nice person and a sweet mom. Matt--if you ever take her for granted I will put a curse on you, that you will go bald, become hunchback, and grow excessive hair in your ears and nose--and a unibrow too.
