I think Cole was hedging on giving his dad an answer to the question: Did he like the music? He knows his Uncle Daniel and needs to stay in good favor with him.
I have a feeling that Cole is not now, nor will he ever be, capable of hedging on anything. I think what you're seeing there is a child who is dumbstruck with awe and admiration for what he's hearing.
