Old School/New School

Got these in the email from Grandma. This first shot made me think of a conversation I had with Scott when Gabe was a baby. I said, "Yeah, it looks like he's got that big Thompson head." Scott said, "I prefer the word 'prominent.'"

I'm not sure which is cooler on my part. The wet look hair or the tucked in sweater. It really is a toss-up.

Oh...the awesome, paisley, tent dresses Trish! We were dressed identical! I remember events in my childhood by my dresses. I can remember all my dresses. We got to dress so cool because we would see a dress in a magazine, show mom and she would make it identical...
Poor tent dresses...they are the one fashion item that seemed to never make it around again.

I love the picture of our grandchildren. Look at little Emily with her arm around Gabriel. I would like to see that again!!!

I would love an updated picture like that.

Love to all of you,
Grandma

Since so much is being said about the Thompson head, let me put it into proper perspective: It takes a big cranium to hold all the intelligent brains.

yeah, but do you know how hard it is to find cowboy hats in 7 5/8's?

or to ALWAYS have to shop in the men's department if you are looking for a hat....

Fly fishing hats still look like fly fishing hats even if you add feathers and ribbons for Easter.....

I can only wear knitted scarves in the winter around my head or earmuffs. NOT EVEN KNITTED hats are made big enough. No one ever believes me until we go to a store. When I prove no hat fits, their mouth just hangs open.....and they look at me speechless.

You can imagine how big my head was during the "rat your hair" phase.
I have a picture of our family when Chris was a baby. We were on the evangelistic field which REQUIRED the wife have big hair....
In this picture, my head is bigger than all of Chris who was probably 6 months old then.

7 5/8? That's nothing. I'm pretty sure when I was on the school baseball team the special-order batting helmet they got for me was over the 8-inch measurement.

I am lucky enough to have a few of Grandpa Thompson and Waldron hats-one is 7 3/8 and one is 7 5/8. Both sides apparently could claim big noggins. And shaving your head doesnt help- I shaved mine for vacation and I looked like a bald guy with a huge head. Better to have SOME hair and mop it down with goop.
